On Friday 18th July over 350 enthusiastic guests came together to celebrate the best in Construction at Sheffield City Hall.

The evening featured Peter Hansford (Government Chief Construction Advisor) and was hosted by the brilliant JoJo Kelly (Capital FM). Making their first appearance at an awards ceremony, the evening turned out to be a memorable one for Cubicle Centre.

Constructing Excellence Yorkshire and Humber Awards recognise and reward the best of construction innovation and best practise in the region. These awards have grown to become one of the highlights of the business calendar with construction professionals regularly attending to celebrate the best that the regional built environment has to offer.

To the teams delight, Cubicle Centre were awarded ‘SME of the Year’ for their work with Building Information Modelling (BIM). In particular, how they are looking to use BIM to improve internal manufacturing processes, alongside developing staff skills and knowledge on the subject.

Not finished yet, there was one final award to be announced on the night. The judging panel of 14 selected from all the entries and chose who they believed truly reflects ‘excellence in the Yorkshire and Humber region’…

Once again, the Cubicle Centre table was up celebrating as winners of the ‘Best of the Best’ award. David Thorpe (Founder) and Craig Sewell (Director of Branding & Marketing) made for the stage to collect the award.

Craig Sewell (Director of Branding & Marketing) commented:

“Everyone at Cubicle Centre is delighted to receive this recognition for work with Building Information Modelling (BIM).

As a small manufacturing firm, BIM has allowed us to compete with the so called ‘big-boys’ in the industry. Using BIM to streamline the manufacturing process means we are confident of ensuring a better product, delivered even quicker to our customers.

‘SME of the Year’ in itself was a fantastic surprise, but to win ‘Best of the Best’ on the night has really made the last two years hard work worthwhile. And, we haven’t finished yet. Watch this space.”
